Hulk Coaster Repaint

With the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure’s first full summer season starting here fairly quickly, Universal has decided to spruce up the park. The upgrades include minor adjustments, and one major announcement- the repainting of The Incredible Hulk Coaster. From a personal standpoint, I’m extremely happy about this decision because I believe the coaster has been in dire need of a repaint.

Universal Orlando Resort announced this on their Facebook Page:

“The Incredible Hulk is getting greener! Our long-planned re-finishing project is underway. Don’t worry – we paint by night so you can ride by day. But that means it’s going to take a few months to finish. Can you guess how many gallons of “Hulk-Green” paint we’re going to use?”

So be on the lookout for a Greener Hulk this summer!

The Blue Man Group Painting

The Blue Man Group has been performing daily in the Sharp Aquos Theatre since June 2007 since it took over the previous attraction, Nickelodeon Studios. Now, I’m sure the people who grew up with shows like “Double Dare” and “Guts” that were filmed there miss Nickelodeon Studios, but The Blue Man Group is a fantastic show and is definitely worth the watch!

If you want to own a piece of art from the show listen up, because this is for you. During the first part of the show you will see The Blue Man Group making a painting. This is done when a Blue Man throws “paint-gumballs” to another Blue Man to catch in his mouth and to spray on a blank canvas. The blank canvas then becomes a unique piece of art that sits on stage for majority of their show.

To get this one of a kind painting, you will need to leave the show a few minutes early. They only make one piece of art per show so it’s “first come first serve”. Go to the gift shop counter and let the employee know you would like to buy the painting from the show. It costs a little over fifty dollars and is worth every penny! You will be the only person in the audience taking away something that was made on stage.

They put a sticker on the painting to make it “official”. Afterwards, you can take the painting and have the band sign it as well as have the blue-men add their “autograph”.

Hope this tip makes your Blue Man visit that much better!

Kodak Friday

If you’ve been to Universal Studios Florida, you might have noticed small signs scattered around the park that are known as Kodak Photo Spots. A lot of them give great tips as to where to take “the perfect picture.” Sadly, there are many that go unnoticed. Every Friday I will post a Kodak Photo Spot along with my photo of that particular spot.

This weeks Photo Spot is located near the Jaws Ride when you’re getting off of it. Since you’re not allowed to take pictures when you’re on the actual ride, you miss out on taking a beautiful snapshot of Amity Island.

To get a photo of the historic island, you will need to turn left as soon as your tour boat makes it back to the dock and you exit the ride after nearly being engulfed by a great white. You will find the Kodak Photo Spot about 20 feet in front of you after following the white fence. A perfect place to take a snap shot of the famous Amity Island.

I hope you enjoyed this useful tip!

The Beginning…

Hey my name is Scott. I am 21 years old and studying to get my Masters in Entertainment Business at Full Sail University. For the past 3 years or so, I have been living in Winter Park. The advantage of living here is that you’re right on the outskirts of every major theme park. After being a pass-holder at each park in the area for a little over a year, I’ve had the opportunity to go to all of the Disney parks, Universal parks, as well as Sea World and Busch Gardens. Out of all of the theme parks I’ve been to, there’s only one area I’ve made a strong emotional connection to and that is Universal Orlando Resort- home to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. I have been a Universal Pass-Holder for 3 years now and enjoy going weekly.
